21 KEYS OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENT.

Growing up as a young boy, I used to think first class is met for some special people.

I used to think academic excellence is not for everyone. I used to believe some were born to fail.

Many students struggles academically and it's so disheartening they could not find the way out.

I realized there are keys the successful people have used which hath to be revealed.

1 VICTORIOUS MINDSET.

As a man thinketh  in his heart so is he . 
You are a product of your thoughts and imaginations. If you can think well, then you can live well .

Don't start a battle you have not won in your heart

Sun Tzu says " victorious warriors win first and then go to war while  defeated warriors go to war first and seek to win".

God can only bless you and fill your cup to the level of your mindset.

Let your purpose be discovered from your outset ,know what you want and believes on what Christ can do through you.

2.  HUNGER FOR ACADEMICS EXCELLENCE

Whatever things you don't desires won't come to your side.

Law of attraction.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after academic excellence: for they shall be filled( satisfied).

God will definitely filled the hunger, but it now left for you on what you are hungry for;

A hungry man will not takes a drop of water, don't take   Bs and Cs as God will for your academics .

3 FRUITFUL ASSOCIATION.

Don't embark on the journey of academic excellence alone , walk with the wise .

 Those you associate yourself with  in life speak a lot  concerning your academics performance.

Become wise ( Academics excellent) by walking with the wise ( excellent men); hang out with fools ( failure and mediocre)  and watch your life fall into pieces.

4 MENTORSHIP.

 Mentor is someone that transfer knowledge to you through relationship.

Mentor teaches you how to excel academically .

Mentor have seen what you can't see  .

Mentor shortened your journey .

Get someone who can mentor you on your academics life , don't say you can do everything on your own , nothing good dwell in man's flesh.

Be accountable to someone . Build a strong  mentor-mentee relationship .

If you are not mentored, you will be tormented!

5. TAKE HOLY SPIRIT AS YOUR TEACHER.

Holy spirit is the spirit of truth that knows everything . Engage in  the ministry of the Holy spirit .

That is why you need to be born again , be sure of your salvation; don't think  , be sure . Holy spirit  is God's gift to believers , when you believe ,you have  a great teacher.

Bro Gbile who is a first class in mathematics narrated his encounters with the Holy Spirit , How he was always  taught by  him , you too can engage him.

There are a lot of points that your lecturer can't reveal to you .
You need  the Revealer!

6.  PAY THE SPIRITUAL COST.

Nothing Happens in the physical   realm without winning the battle in the spiritual realm .

Don't  read to the extent of forgetting your God .

 You can do nothing without Him but in him there is fullness of Academics Excellence.

As you read ,please pray.

Everything about excellence speaks the dimension of God's gift . Ask him in prayer. he that ask will surely receive, don't lounge on your strength .

  Except the lord build your Academics ,you might build it ,but in vain.

7. KNOW GOD PURPOSE FOR YOUR ACADEMICS.

Some believes that God wants mediocrity for them.

Some believe that Christians must not have anything in excess ,if you want to have money ,have a little ,if it is academics be an average .

All these assumptions are lies from the pit of hell .

God says  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you (Academics excellence) and not to harm you ( failure and mediocre ) , plans to give you hope and a future.

 If you don't know what is written concerning you,  you will be written off.

You are created  for excellence because you are representing God  wherever you find yourself.

Don't  disgrace  your maker and your generation!

Wake up from your sleeping and slumbering.

You can be a millionaire and  go to heaven.
You can have first class and  go to heaven.

Do you think Abraham was  poor? what of Elisha ,Solomon and  David?

Daddy Olukoya found this key and he made first class, Daddy  W.F. Kumuyi   found this and he made first class , didn't you hear of Papa E.A. Adeboye ?

They are not spiritual ?
What of Daniel , Luke , Apostle Paul?

Go and excel academically!

8. BE A MAN OF CONVICTION.

If you don't  believe on your gifts , nobody will believe you .

This planet is ruled by those that can withstand storms of life.

Don't give up on the journey  of Academics excellence , if you can imagine it ,you can become it.

Failure is not an end of your life ,its just a stepping stone to academics excellence , some will pass through as a training ground , don't  be discouraged. You can do it .

9. DILIGENCE.

If you want to dine with the president of your nation, apply this key

Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business(Academics)? He will stand before kings(professors, presidents,Governors,Senates); he will not stand before obscure men.

Your desires alone is not enough to produce your desired result, be persistent and hard working.

This is one of the greatest key for  academics success . It is a treasure, don't ignore  it .

 If you can get this key ,you will definitely receive handshake from the vice chancellor/Rector/provost  of your institution on your convocation day .

10. DETERMINATION.

Failure will not overtake you if your determination to succeed is strong enough

If you want to increase the speedometer of your  grade ,you must be determined and prepared earnestly for it .

So your  CGPA is sinking currently? Don't worry because you have  found the missing link today

  When an Opportunity meet up with preparation ,its called Favour!

 If you are not determined to get it, another person that is not as brilliant as you are will definitely take your mantle while you are still a live .

Have you ever imagined why that small boy/ girl in your department has being topping your department like that? he/she has this key.

Get it right today and take up your mantle today . You can do it .

11. DISCOVER YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES.

If you failed to discover your strengths and weaknesses in life ,you will continuing desiring to be like Daddy D. K. Olukoya  , Professor  Ola Rotimi  ,Prof. Wole Soyinka , Prof. Attahiru Muhammadu Jega, etc.

Be yourself ,you can do it without copying others.
Stop complaining that you don't know mathematics,physics and Chemistry . The experts are made not born.

Discovering of your potentials will saves you from unhealthy competitions.

Don't read because your course mates/ friends are reading . Don't go to night class because others are going.

12. BE READY TO LEARN.

Don't have the mindset of  I can read and understand on my own.
Learn from those that are ahead of you in mental capacity. Go to Tutorial if you can. Go to people you can benefit from their wealth of knowledge.

Don't be too mindful of what people will say and neglect the reason why you are  in school (Academics Excellence).

13 YOU MUST BE A READER.

You must be a disciple before you can be an Apostle .

How can you write if you have not read ? how can you read and understand if you have not been taught?

He who doesn't read is not better than he who can't read.

If you want  academics excellence ,fall in love with reading.

If you can read then you can write . Don't read blindly ,read your lecturers' materials before further researching.

 Don't neglect the points of your lecturers.

You can ask for course references .

14. CONSISTENCY.

Making a first class for a semester doesn't make you a first class student.

Your ability to reproduce it consecutively make you a first class. Be consistent in your readings ,  have a specific time for your academics , don't just read for two hours today and six hours tomorrow and abandon your books till another week.

Read for test as if you are preparing for an examination. See test like examination , its part of your grade.

Don't wait till   a day to examination before you start reading . Read consistently!

15.  LEARN HOW TO SUMMARISE.

Your ability to reproduce  what you have been taught make you a knowledgeable person .

 Don't just read and cram; read and summarise in your own way and according to the level of your understanding.

There is no  how you can be a first-class  student, if you can't summarise.     Reduce that voluminous text book to maximum of  thirty pages.

Try it ,you can do it . Apply skimming and scanning skills.

Everything is important but not all  will be asked in examination. Read to pass when you are preparing for examination.

16. TAKE  FAILURES AS  A  CHALLENGE.

 Don't see failure as an end of your journey but rather sees it as stepping stone to success.

Every successful man has felt it ,don't relent and don't  quit .

Apply the key of conviction . I know what I want and I Am persuaded that I can achieve it .
Let the above statement be your slogan.

Haven't you read about  Dr. Philip Idowu ( A lecturer in FUOYE)  who failed his WAEC  Ten times?

 What of   Hillary Agbo-Odeh who failed Seventeen courses but still graduated with first class?

He also became the overall best graduating student of the 14th and 15th combined convocation of BSU held on January 17, 2015.

What of Sterlin, who failed three units course,   in Rufus Giwa polytechnic ,but later graduated   with Distinction and as best graduating student of his set?

So you don't know that you can still achieve your dream after failure?  Go and face that mountain again .You can do it!

17.  CONFESSION.

The power to excel bask  on your tongue .
Whatever you can confess ,you  can possess it.

Your confession is your possession.

If thou can believe and confess academics excellence ,then you can achieve it.

Stop all negative confessions over your academics ,word don't die because they are life and spirit .

So you don't know that confession is also a key .
Now that you have found it ,start using it effectively.

18. REST.

Don't read always without setting time aside for rest .

Reading till day break is good but its detrimental to your health .

Get some rest. Don't be so serious and forget to rest .

Your brain work more effectively when you sleep.

19. FORECAST YOUR GRADE.

From the outset , outline your desired grade for each courses .

Know what you want .
Know the end from the beginning through prediction.

21.  BE  INQUISITIVE.

If you want to be a hero in academics field ,you must be an inquisitor, querier and investigator.

Don't be  lost in the crowd ,if others are not asking questions ,please do,  if you don't understand anything ask your lecturer.

Don't be mindful of what people will say about you rather be mindful of your aims.
